We are excited to announce our pre-conference workshop for this year’s ECPS summit. This year’s workshop will take place on June 6th from 11:00 – 12:30 PM EDT. Below you will find all the exciting details about this workshop.
Digital learning and assessment generate a large amount of data in various forms. To deal with the complex data, psychometric researchers need to garner new techniques from data science, machine learning, and natural language processing (NLP). An edited volume, Computational Psychometrics (Eds. von Davier, Mislevy, & Hao, 2022), was developed to introduce these new techniques in a way more accessible to researchers with psychometrics backgrounds. In this workshop, we will give a high-level overview of the important techniques from data science, machine learning, and natural language processing. We will also introduce some exemplar use cases of these methods in an educational assessment context. We hope the workshop can help participants get a clear picture of what new skills are needed and help them get started to acquire them.
Speaker: Jiangang Hao, Director, Psychometric and Data Science Modeling, ETS
